If the size is wrong

Tell us within 30 days and we send the right size at no charge. We do not want the first one back, so there is nothing to post and nothing to pay.

If the harness is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a replacement or a refund under the Australian Consumer Law, and we will not ask you to return anything.

A front-clip walking harness with a straight chest strap, built for dogs that lean into the lead. Comes with a personalised name patch on both sides.

What's in the design

  • Two attachment points. A front D-ring on the chest strap for everyday walking, and a second D-ring on the top handle for close control.
  • Padded control handle across the back, for road crossings, vet visits and lifting into the boot.
  • Personalised name patch. Hook-and-loop panels on both sides, printed with your dog's name and, if you want it, your phone number.
  • Reflective stitching running the length of every strap, for early starts and evening walks.
  • Breathable mesh lining against the chest and shoulders.
  • Quick-release buckle with sliding adjusters on the chest and belly straps.

Sizing

Sizes are set by your dog's weight. Measure or weigh your dog before ordering, and size up if your dog sits between two sizes.

Size Dog weight
XS 4-6 kg
S 5-11 kg
M 10-20 kg
L 21-30 kg
XL 32-40 kg

Materials

Polyester webbing with a mesh-lined chest panel, metal D-rings and a moulded quick-release buckle.

Care

Hand wash in cool water with mild soap. Air dry away from direct sun. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron.

A note on fit

No harness trains a dog on its own. A front attachment point changes where the pressure sits and gives you more steering, which makes loose-lead training easier. It works alongside training, not instead of it.

The bit nobody explains

It is not about strength. It is about where the lead is attached.

Clip a lead to your dog's back and you have built a sled harness. Every kilo of push goes straight down the lead into your arm, and the harder your dog pulls, the more the gear helps them do it.

Move the attachment to the chest and the same push turns your dog back towards you. They cannot drive forward into it. You are not fighting the pull, you are pointing it somewhere else.

That is the whole mechanism. It is also why a back-clip harness makes a puller worse, and why you were never doing anything wrong.

Find the right size

A harness that does not fit cannot do its job. This takes one minute.

Size Dog weight Typical Australian breeds
XS 4 - 6 kg Chihuahua, Toy Poodle, Maltese
S 5 - 11 kg Cavoodle, Jack Russell, Mini Foxie
M 10 - 20 kg Border Collie, Staffy, Kelpie
L 21 - 30 kg Australian Cattle Dog, Groodle, Labrador
XL 32 - 40 kg German Shepherd, Bull Arab, Rottweiler

Weigh your dog, do not guess from the breed. Two Kelpies can be six kilos apart, and a puppy moves up a size sooner than you expect.

Between two sizes? Take the larger one. Deep chests and thick coats both eat into the range.

Breeds here are a guide, not a rule. If the weight and the breed disagree, trust the weight.

How it compares

A head halter does stop the pull. Most dogs just hate wearing one.

Daxely Head halter Back-clip harness
Redirects the pull instead of resisting it
Goes on from the side, not over the head
Two attachment points, front and back
Nothing across the muzzle or eyes
Comfortable over a long walk
Personalised name patch included

Compared against the two things most owners try first.

Questions people ask before they buy

Will this actually stop my dog pulling?

Not overnight, and any harness that promises that is selling you something. What a front attachment does is change the physics: when your dog pushes forward, the lead turns them back towards you instead of letting them drive straight ahead. That gives you steering, and it takes most of the force off your shoulder. The habit still takes work. You can just do that work without being dragged.

My dog pulls hard. Will it hold?

Polyester webbing, metal D-rings, box stitching at the load points. Size it correctly and check the fit before each walk. If a strap frays or the stitching goes, stop using it and email us.

What if the size is wrong?

Tell us within 30 days and we send the right size at no charge. We do not want the first one back, so there is nothing to post and nothing to pay. Sizing from a weight chart is not exact and we would rather your dog wear one that fits.

What can I put on the name patch?

Your dog's name, up to 12 characters, and a phone number if you want one. Printed on both sides, white on black. We print exactly what you type, so check your spelling before you order. The patch is included free.

Will it rub or chafe?

The chest and shoulder panels are lined with breathable mesh. Chafing almost always comes from a harness that is too loose and slides around, not one that is snug. You should be able to slip two fingers under any strap, no more.

My dog hates things going over his head.

This one does not go over the head. The neck strap is fixed and the belly strap opens at a side buckle, so it goes on from the side while your dog stands. No wrestling, no lifting paws.

What is the difference between the front and back attachment?

The front D-ring sits on the chest strap. Clip there when you want steering and less pull. The ring on the top handle is for close control, sitting at the vet, or crossing a road. Same harness, two jobs.

Do I still need to train my dog?

Yes. This is walking equipment, not a training program. It makes loose-lead training possible by taking the force out of the pull, so you can reward the right behaviour instead of bracing against the wrong one. It is a tool, not a substitute.

How long does delivery take?

1 to 3 business days to print your patch and dispatch, then 6 to 12 business days to your door. Free anywhere in Australia, every order tracked. Because your order is well under AU$1,000, there is no duty and no GST to pay on arrival.

What if my dog still pulls?

Email us. Tell us what is happening and we will help you check the fit and the clip position, which is where most of the problem sits. If it genuinely is not working for you, we will sort it out.

Try it for 30 days

If the size is wrong we send the right one free and you keep the first. If the harness is faulty we replace it or refund it, your choice, and you post nothing back.

Questions before you order? Email support@daxely.com and a person answers, usually within a day.
